What is SOC 2 Type II Certification?
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a compliance framework developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The audit process evaluates a company’s information systems in terms of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. SOC 2 Type II specifically assesses the effectiveness of these controls on a recurring basis, making it one of the most stringent security certifications.
